Hotel Schluessel - Lucerne

I had a good stay! The breakfast was really good and the cheese platter at New Year’s Eve was a lovely surprise. The room was charmingly decorated and spacious, just like the photos!

The room we were upgraded at no charge to was large and included central heating, a personal safe, and multi-channel television. The breakfast was particularly nice, had a wide range of food. Also, location was favourable, at a moderate distance from Old Town Lucerne.

Reasonably large unit with a stylish decor. A good and stunning location very close to cafes and bars. Excellent service, parking nearby.

The location is fantastic, just a short walk from the train station and near the riverside. It made exploring the city super easy. The historical decor adds a charming touch to the hotel. The staff were attentive, always ready to assist with my luggage and provide great local dining recommendations. Check-in was smooth and convenient with a seamless self check-in process. There were a few drawbacks. The room felt too small and lacked air conditioning, uncomfortable during hot weather. On one night, we had to evacuate due to a fire alarm, a bit alarming even though it turned out to be a false alarm. Despite these issues, the overall ambiance of the hotel was enjoyable, and I appreciated the complimentary refreshments available on one of the floors.

A cozy retreat in history

I was enchanted by the elegant simplicity of our room, waking up to quiet charm. The location was perfect, just steps from the lake and old town. It seemed like a slice of history!

Location was the best part.

Friendly and helpful staff, but very outdated hotel. Limited decorations, room had no style and did not feel like home, looked like a dorm room. Bathroom very outdated as well. No toiletries provided. Way too much money for what we got.

The king room was functional and reasonably large with balcony. The location was marvellous and wonderful for traveling around Lucerne, short walk to the center, bars, restaurants and the lake and which is frequented by locals.

I really enjoyed my stay, especially with the nice touch of having a fridge stocked with drinks right in the hallway. The hotel offered a cozy lounge area and a charming rooftop space for relaxation. Just a heads up, the self-check-in was a bit tricky at first, so make sure to read the instructions carefully!

Friendly staff, neat and tidy roof and flexibility with check-inn. Our train arrived very late and we were able to arrange a late check-inn with a near by hotel that was manned 24hr.

Although small, Hotel Schlussel is well placed and offers good friendly service without too much hassle.

Not really a big dismay...it is near the church and the church bells rings rather often...music to me but not to my husband and his sister. Not a big problem.

Very convenient to the city center. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was quite large, which was a nice change from other European hotels. Comfortable beds, pillows, and very clean.

Would have been nice to have fans/cooling apparatus in rooms during summer months, as it can be quite warm, and with windows open, it can be very loud.
